Maintenance & Downtime Policy

How we handle planned maintenance and service interruptions

1Policy Overview

FinanceModel performs periodic maintenance to keep our services reliable, secure, and up to date. This policy explains what maintenance means for you, how we communicate about it, and what to expect during service interruptions.

Why Maintenance Is Necessary

  • • Applying security updates and patches
  • • Improving system performance and reliability
  • • Deploying new features and enhancements
  • • Performing database optimization
  • • Upgrading infrastructure components

We aim to minimize disruption to your work while ensuring the platform remains stable and secure.

2Planned Maintenance

Planned maintenance refers to scheduled service work that we anticipate in advance. During planned maintenance, some or all FinanceModel services may be temporarily unavailable.

What You May Experience

  • Partial unavailability: Some features may be temporarily inaccessible while others remain functional.
  • Full unavailability: In some cases, the entire platform may be briefly inaccessible.
  • Slower performance: Services may respond more slowly during maintenance windows.

Note: We cannot guarantee zero downtime during maintenance. We recommend saving your work frequently and avoiding critical operations during announced maintenance periods.

3Communication Channels

We communicate maintenance information through multiple channels to keep you informed.

System Status Page

The System Status page is the primary source of truth for service health. It displays current status, ongoing maintenance, and any active issues.

In-App Notifications

When maintenance is imminent or in progress, you may see notifications within the application alerting you to the situation and expected impact.

Email Notifications

For significant maintenance events, we may send email notifications to affected users. These are reserved for events with meaningful user impact.

We strive to provide advance notice when possible, but the timing may vary depending on the nature and urgency of the maintenance.

4During Maintenance

When maintenance is underway, here's how to stay informed and what to expect.

What You May See

  • • A maintenance notice or page explaining the situation
  • • Temporary error messages when accessing certain features
  • • Slower response times for available services
  • • Temporary inability to log in or access your data

How to Check Current Status

Visit the System Status page for real-time information about service health and maintenance progress.

Please Avoid

  • Repeated retries: Continuously refreshing or retrying may slow recovery.
  • Critical operations: Avoid important tasks until services are confirmed operational.
  • Multiple support requests: Check the status page before contacting support.

5After Maintenance

When maintenance is complete, we update our communication channels to confirm that services have returned to normal.

Confirmation of Completion

  • • The System Status page will show all systems operational
  • • In-app notifications will be cleared
  • • Normal service should resume

If you continue to experience issues after maintenance is marked complete, please wait a few minutes and try again. If problems persist, contact our support team.

Any incidents that occurred during maintenance will be documented in our Incident History for transparency.

6Unplanned Downtime

Sometimes service interruptions occur unexpectedly. These are different from planned maintenance.

Maintenance vs. Incidents

Planned Maintenance
  • • Scheduled in advance
  • • Communicated beforehand
  • • Expected duration known
  • • Controlled process
Unplanned Incidents
  • • Occur unexpectedly
  • • Communicated as discovered
  • • Duration uncertain
  • • Requires investigation

When unplanned incidents occur, we follow the same communication process: updating the System Status page, posting in-app notifications, and documenting the incident after resolution.

Transparency & Accountability

All user-impacting incidents are documented in our Incident History. We believe transparency builds trust, and we publicly share information about service disruptions and how they were resolved.
